De film loopt dus wél goed in Amerika.....!

The "Exorcist" prequel overcame production difficulties and some nasty reviews to easily take the top spot at this weekend's box-office with a solid $18 million. Faring nearly as well was Seth Green/Matthew Lillard comedy "Without a Paddle" coming in not too far behind in second place with a decent sized haul. Indie shark flick "Open Water" opened wide on 2000 screens and translated that into strong business in fifth place. "Benji Off the Leash" barely cracked the Top 20, the kiddie flick likely to disappear immediately.
In terms of returning releases, "Alien vs. Predator" suffered a big loss with a rather severe 67% fall which doesn't bode well for each of its franchises' futures. It still fared better than "Yu Gi Oh: the Movie" which plummeted 69.7%. "Princess Diaries 2" continues holding up and looks to potentially get close to $100 million, a nice bit of change for Disney. "The Bourne Supremacy" passed the $150 million mark and has become not only one of the bigger hits of the summer but looks to easily pass the gross of its predecessor - thus a third film seems set. "The Village" is slipping out of the top ten with its final tally looking to come in at the $120-130M mark.
