Queen, The (2006)
Mooie, vaak ook grappige film.
Ik zag echter niet het satirische element dat NRC erin zag. Ik vond het juist een uitermate realistische weergave van wat er destijds gebeurd had kunnen zijn. De acteurs waren hartstikke goed.
Wel raar om de man die ook in het Amerikaanse Six Feet Under - een van mijn lievelingsshows op tv - speelt, James Cromwell, nu opeens te zien als een oerbrit. Hoewel, oerbrit, ik zie net dat hij geboren werd als prins van Griekenland en Denemarken. Hij werd trouwens geboren op een keukentafel... Tja, een koninklijk leven, maar niet zo'n koninklijke start!
Quiz Show (1994)
Ik heb geen idee of dit toegestaan is maar ik kan het niet beter zeggen dan de onderstaande citaten van IMDB:
"Quiz Show is a brilliantly told morality tale, but that is not to say it preaches. It can get away with not preaching because the consequences of their actions didn't harm anyone. It doesn't say, 'if you do something wrong you will be punished'. It says 'If you do something wrong, can you live with yourself'. "It's the getting away with it I couldn't stand" Charlie says at one point."
