Een nieuw project van Noe, en deze keer geen short.

Noé in Tokyo

Laat maar komen. Een regisseur die doorgaans toch beter in de lange films tot z'n recht komt.

Goed nieuws, ben helemaal in voor een nieuwe Noé. De acteurs zijn nog niet bekend....Japan.....zou toch geweldig zijn als een Terajima straks door het beeld komt huppelen.

Flipperen in Tokio, wie deed dat niet!

Dat werd ook eens tijd ook. Plot klinkt fascinerend. Een debutant in de hoofdrol.

O heb hier zin in!!!!!!

Ben erg benieuwd of Noé z'n stijl verder weet te perfectioneren, al is het natuurlijk wel erg moeilijk om Irreversible te overtreffen. Maar ik heb er alle vertrouwen in, laat maar komen zou ik zeggen.

Ik kan niet wachten.

Eindelijk! Wordt deze film de derde Noe notering in mijn top 10?!

Hoe meer ik erover lees, hoe leuker hij me lijkt.

Haha, yes. Die link met informatie smaakt inderdaad naar meer Goto. Alles wat ik tot nu toe weet over deze film klinkt héél goed, Noé in Tokyo. Hard.

"De" film van het jaar 2009 waar ik het meest naar uit kijk. Laat de trailer maar komen.

Klinkt fantastisch.

Dat gebouw op die poster... Moet wel een Lovehotel zijn.

Spreekt mij ook ontzettend aan. Grappig dat iedereen over die zin valt. Maakt het verhaal wel meteen minder belangrijk, al lag daar misschien sowieso de focus al niet op. Deze film zou het nog eens goed kunnen doen bij de massa, ondanks dat Irreversible ontzettend veel tegenstrijdige kritieken kreeg. Audio/visueel en kwa onderwerp lijkt me dit een stuk toegankelijker. Ik ben benieuwt

Verder zegt Noé:

This quote from Spielberg is perhaps not completely accurate, but that’s how I remember it. However, some examples of great films do exist, including the film which had such an influence on my existence: 2001, A Space Odyssey. Without professing to be able to create such a masterpiece, trying to make a film that is, at the same time, a large-scale entertainment, suitable for adults and complex in cinematic terms, is one of the most exciting undertakings one could wish to tackle. And if one does not set out with the aim of making a great film, one can be sure that it will not turn out to be one.

Few of the arts can satisfy man’s need to be uplifted as immediately as film. And none (except interactive video games) can yet reproduce the maelstrom of our states of perception and consciousness.

In the past, certain films have tried to adopt the subjective point of view of the main character. enter the void will try to improve upon its predecessors and accompany the hero just as much in his normal state of awareness as in his altered states: the state of alertness, the stream of consciousness, memories, dreams...

The visions described in the script are inspired partly by the accounts of people who have had near-death experiences, who describe a tunnel of light, seeing their lives flashing past them and ‘astral’ visions, and partly by similar hallucinatory experiences obtained by consuming DMT, the molecule which the brain sometimes secretes at the moment of death and which, in small doses, enables us to dream at night.

The film should sometimes scare the audience, make it cry and, as much as possible, hypnotise it.

In recent years, films with labyrinthine structures have proved the audience’s ability to follow storylines in the form of a puzzle, and its desire to move away from linear narration.

But a complex form where the content does not move the spectator in any way would only amount to mathematic virtuosity. Whereas this film is above all a melodrama: the universal melodrama of a young man who, after the brutal death of his parents, promises that he will protect his little sister no matter what and who, sensing that he himself is dying, fights desperately to keep his promise. A film where the life of one person is linked to the love he has for another human being.

The reason for choosing the most modern areas of Tokyo as a setting is to further emphasize the fragility of the brother and sister by propelling them like two small balls in a giant pinball machine made up of black, white and fluorescent colours. ""(bron)

En dan schijnt het verder nog iets te maken te hebben met het Tibetaanse Dodenboek. Klinkt goed!

Wat worden er geweldige titels genoemd!

Noé zegt me alsnog niet zoveel, maar moderne architectuur en neonlicht eens te meer. Ben toch stiekem een beetje benieuwd.

Hij gaat natuurlijk niet de film vergelijken met Piet Piraat en Kabouter Plop - als ie die al kent; ik betwijfel het.

Ik maak me al lang geen zorgen meer om zulke referenties. Tsukamoto is ook fan van Kurosawa en Du Welz' grote voorbeeld is Hitchcock. En zij maken toch ook goeie films.

Er zijn ook genoeg rampzalige regisseurs die geweldige films als referenties noemen, dus dat zegt inderdaad erg weinig.

Verschil is alleen dat Noé weet waar hij over praat. Ik heb in ieder geval alle vertrouwen in een erg sterke film. Ik zie Noé niet snel falen.

Samen met Danny Boyle's 'Slumdog Millionaire' is dit de film waar ik op het moment het meest naar uitkijk.

Irréversible nog niet gezien, maar zijn visie trekt me sterk. Afgaande op het beetje dat ik van de film weet kan het heel wat worden, alhoewel ik mijn verwachtingen nog even niet te hoog laat worden. Het kan altijd nog z'n doel voorbij schieten.

Jeuj, nieuwe Noé! Benieuwdheid hier !
