Dit was het decennium waarvoor ik nog geen lijst had gemaakt. Op basis van de waarderingen 5.0* en 4.5* kom ik tot de volgende Top 65. Deze voelt het minst zuiver aan van al mijn lijsten. Jaren 90 waren de jaren waarin ik als filmkijker 'groot' werd dus mijn smaak (en dus waarderingen) sprongen nog alle kanten op. En de meeste dingen heb ik niet (kunnen) herzien.

Pittige lijst!

Prettige lijst ja (maar een top-65 is wel apart)!

28 5.0* films en 37 4.5* films (beide sub lijstjes eindigen met Haneke... ) maakt 65. Om een Top 100 te maken moest ik ook alle 191 4.0* films gaan uitsorteren en dat was me op dit moment wat teveel werk.

Maar ik denk dat dat wel noodzakelijk is om een lijst te krijgen die goed voelt. Tam'e Guilass - die de 4.5* lijst aanvoert - op die plek doet vermoeden dat er meer Kiarostami films zijn die een hoge(re) plek verdienen bijvoorbeeld. En naast Sokurov bestond de Russische film blijkbaar niet in dit decennium voor mij. Dat moet grondig worden uitgezocht!

Zoiets leek me ook wel een logische verklaring Toch is er bij mij altijd die drang om lijstjes op bepaalde mooie getallen te laten eindigen (75 zou bijvoorbeeld natuurlijker aanvoelen dan 65).

Even terugkijken op die Russen (Bartas staat wel in de lijst) ik zag 25 Russische en 9 Sovjet films, daar moet toch meer uit te halen zijn dan 3 Sokurovs. Osobennosti Natsionalnoy Okhoty (1995) of Sluchaynyy Vals (1990) bijvoorbeeld.

De jaren negentig. Een tijd waarin ik veel minder films keek dan nu en alleen ober was@ IFFR en geen films keek (tja...). De tijd van ietsje langer opblijven voor Twin Peaks (serie, de film zag ik later), Tarrantino, Jeff Bridges, Spike Lee, Kids, skateboard- en surffilms kijken en heel veel Lowlands tripjes. In willekeurige volgorde een top 10 +. Velen komen voor in de top zoveel van MM en zijn dus niet heel verrassend. Tegenwoordig kijk ik (opvallend) meer naar drama. 1. Pulp Fiction (1994) 2.
