En waarom niet?

Omdat ik Fukasaku Kinji tijdens het IFFR in 2000 ontdekte, toen de cinema van Fukasaku voor het eerst in het buitenland werd gepresenteerd. Ik zag toen vele prachtige Yakuza films uit de jaren 60 en 70 van hem met als hoogtepunt het anti-oorlogsdrama Under the Flag of the Rising Sun. Deze "commerciële" exploitatiefilm lijkt me een erg grote inbreuk maken op die -min of meer dierbare- herinnering. Dat heb ik er niet voor over.
