Ik zou graag een Black-Comedy Knock-Out organiseren.

Het idee kwam bij me op toen ik de discussies las over het al-dan-niet grappig zijn van films als American Beauty en Happiness.

Nu ben ik zeker niet de grootste filmkenner op het forum, dus zal ik wat feed-back nodig hebben. Ik heb momenteel een lijst met een 140-tal films, onder andere gebaseerd op het zoekwoord Black Comedy bij IMDB. Er zijn echter titels bij van films die ik niet gezien heb, die me niet altijd onder de noemer Black Comedy lijken te passen.

Conclusie : als er wat animo is, publiceer ik de lijst, luister ik naar jullie commentaar, en lanceer ik de knock-out wanneer één van de 2 die momenteel lopen, voorbij is.

Ligt wel in mijn straatje, zolang er maar geen Coen wint dan, oid. Ben wel benieuwd naar de lijst in ieder geval

Mijn favorieten zitten er in ieder geval wel bij, maar een erg vreemde lijst verder.

Ik begrijp dat je op IMDb's suggesties bent verdergegaan, maar 140 film leek me sowieso al veel (aangezien het een redelijk klein subgenre is).

Monty Python, One Flew, Sin City, Welcome to the Dollhouse, Memories of Murder, Kung Fu, Kill Bill, Goodfellas, Go etc etc etc.

Ik begrijp wel onder welk argument ze toegevoegd zijn, maar als winnaar van een dergelijke knock-out vind ik ze totaal ongepast.

Films als Very Bad Things, (Sex Crimes) en U-Turn zijn dan weer afwezig, vreemd genoeg. Toch schoolvoorbeelden van het zwarte humor genre.

Het is een werkdocument, en het ligt absoluut in mijn bedoeling de lijst te beperken (tot 64 of 128 ?).

Ik ga het op mijn gemak aanpakken, luisteren naar de suggesties (heb natuurlijk ook wat tijd, gezien de 'snelheid' waarmee de lopende knock-outs vorderen).

Kill Bill, Sin City, Kung Fu, Goodfellas en Monty Python kunnen zeker weg. Welcome to the Dollhouse en M of a M heb ik niet gezien, Go zou ik voorlopig houden.

De toevoegingen die je voorstelt, komen in elk geval bij.

Wauw! Wat een mooie lijst. Ik ben reuze benieuwd naar wie die knock out gaat winnen.

A Simple Plan is ook wel een zwarte komedie, lijkt mij.

De categorie "gewenst" zijn goeie films met genoeg stemmen of een reputatie die stevig genoeg is volgens mij. De categorie "misschien" zijn film die borderline genre zijn, ofwel een lage score hebben (maar naar mijn mening wel goed zijn). De categorie "opvulling" zijn erg fijne films, maar die een veel te laag stemmenaantal hebben.

64 lijkt mij trouwens een goed aantal, om niet al te veel consessies mbt het genre te maken.

OK, ik mik naar 64. Misschien toch wel aangeven welke uit de lijst voor jou in elk geval moeten blijven ? Kwestie van niet te ver te gaan in mijn schrapwoede

Life of Brian eruit? Hoe zwart wil je het hebben. Verplichte kost. En The Holy Grail ook eigenlijk.

Dog Day Afternoon is geen komedie overigens. En over Wild Things heb ik mijn twijfels.

Python zit teveel in het absurde, platte grollen hoekje om als zwarte komedie betiteld te worden vind ik. Nergens morbide of harde humor.

Wat betreft Aziatische films, die titels kunnen beter in het Engels lijkt me. Anders herkent de helft het waarschijnlijk niet eens

Wat betreft films die me geen plaats lijken te verdienen: Ed Wood. Van A Clockwork Orange zie ik ook de humor niet zo in, maar dat ligt meer aan mij geloof ik.

Ed Wood is ook niet per se zwarte humor. A Clockwork Orange moet er zeker wel in! Er zit wel degelijk veel humor in die film. Alleen is het werkelijk gitzwart.

Python is natuurlijk absurdistisch, maar wel met zwarte humor vermengt. The Holy Grail hoeft van mij er niet per se in, maar een lijst met zwarte komedies zonder Life of Brian is gewoon incompleet.

The Pythons horen hier niet thuis, zeker niet THG en LOB.

Ik denk dat A Clockwork Orange eerder shockerend als grappig bedoeld is.

Ed Wood... Ik weet het niet, van mij mag hij blijven.
